About Us

The Humane Society of Iredell is supported entirely by private donations, which are used only for the benefit of animals. We have no employees, nor do we have an Animal Shelter. What we have are devoted volunteers who share a common goal — we care about pets. All of our animals are in foster homes and we depend on volunteers to run our organization! We encourage you to learn more about us and to join us in caring for animals in need.

The purposes of this Humane Society are:

• The prevention of cruelty to all animals

• The relief of animal suffering

• Humane education

• To help find permanent homes for stray and homeless animals

• Encouraging the spaying and neutering of all animals

• Returning lost animals to their owners

• Seeking suitable homes for domestic animals without owners

• Providing emergency veterinary care to injured animals

Statesville residents — Interested in a dog park?

The Humane Society of Iredell County is trying to raise money to use for a Dog Park. We need donations to make this possible. Please make checks payable to the ICHS (in the memo field of your check put dog park). Mail checks to Humane Society of Iredell County Dog Park PO Box 1617 Statesville, NC 28678.

Here’s how the park works:

There would be 2 separate fenced in areas, one for large dogs, the other for small to medium. (Dogs would need to be well-behaved and get along with other dogs). All dogs would need to be current on vaccines in order to use this park. You could bring your dog to the park and take off of the leash to run and play. Of course, all owners are to remain with their dogs during use of the facilities. To keep the park clean, owners would need to pick up behind their dog and deposit in trash cans on-site.
